Goodbye Tassie

Hi there, we had a great last day and finally saw the infamous Tasmanian Devil, although it was in a nature park. The rangers showed us other animals that they look after and some of them are endangered. (the animals, not the rangers!)

A lot of the animals have been injured and have been nursed back to health but cannot be returned to the wild.

On the way back to Hobart, we passed several fruit farms that sold their own fruit from the roadside.

We flew to Sydney after a smooth handover of the campervan. It just happened to be Australia Day, a national holiday for the aussies. We booked into our hotel near the airport. What a difference from our little mobile home. The bed was a great improvement and we had our own bathroom again.

We took the train into the city and enjoyed the atmosphere that was flowing through the center. Of course, there was a little shopping to do first.

There were several choirs singing and we listened to two of them, they were very good.

After a very tiring day, we went back to the hotel to pack, as we had an early flight the next day. We had arranged to travel with the shuttle to the airport and I nearly left without my "man-bag" with all my documents and bank cards in. Luckily I realised just before we drove off. That would have spoilt my day.  We had a stopover in Auckland for 45minutes where Angie managed to fit in some shopping. The 11hr flight to Santiago went quickly ..... but that´s another story.

See Ya, Terry and Angie
