TAB- The All Blacks

Wir gucken uns das 2. Halbfinale Neuseeland-Australien in einer Kneipe in Coromandel Town an-tolle Stimmung, entspannte Gesichter, als Neuseelands 'THE ALL BLACKS'  früh in Führung geht und dies weiter ausbaut, viel Gelächter und fröhlicher Hohn für den großen Bruder Australien. Links ein Franzose, der in diesem Spiel noch für Neuseeland gehalten hat- rechts ein Farmer, der sich noch mit dem Franzosen versteht.

We watch the 2nd semi final NZ-Australia in a pub in Coromandel Town- great atmosphere, relaxed faces, when NZ's 'THE ALL BLACKS' leads very early and shows it is simply the better team, lots of laughter and friendly battering for big brother Australia.
On the left is a Frenchman, he cheered for NZ in this match, to the right a farmer, who is still friends with the French guy.

Zum Outfit des Farmers: Glen, unser Schwiegersohn, sagte uns, dass man in Neuseeland auch im Schlafanzug einkaufen gehen kann. Alles ist immer sehr entspannt. Aber manchmal hab ich den Eindruck, dass die Kluft der harten Jungs auch eine Art Uniform ist: zerrissenes T-Shirt, verwaschene Shorts, dicke Wollsocken,darüber lehmige Gummistiefel.

Ref. the outfit of the farmer: Glen, our son-in-law told us, in NZ you can go shopping in your pyjamas. Everything is so relaxed. But sometimes I get the idea, that all the rough farm guys wear some kind of uniform: torn T-shirt, washed out shorts, thick woolen socks, muddy gum boots.


Die Neuseeländer halten nicht allzuviel von den Franzosen, haben diese 1985 den 'Rainbow Warrior', das Greenpeace-Schiff, das in die Atomversuchsgebiete der Franzosen im Pazifik fuhr, in Auckland bombardiert und ein Crew-Mitglied getötet. Die Franzosen!!!!, für die die Neuseeländer brav in 2 Weltkriege getrottet sind.
Ein anderer Grund für gegenseitige Animositäten, den ein Neuseeländer uns schmunzelnd erzählt: Die Franzosen haben uns in den letzten Rugby-Weltmeisterschaften mehrmals aus dem Turnier geworfen. Doch diesmal soll im Endspiel alles anders werden- diesmal wird Neuseeland endlich Weltmeister: GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!

The 'Kiwis' don't think much of the french, in 1985 they bombed the anti nuclear flagship of Greenpeace, the 'Rainbow Warrior' and killed a crew-man. The French!!! The Kiwis trotted off to 2 world wars for them!!!
Another reason why the French are not liked so much: They threw NZ out of the last Rugby world cups!! But this time it is all going to be different. GO THE ALL BLACKS!!!
